I. Timothy
3:15-16
15
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou
oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God,
which is the church of the living God, the pillar
and ground of the truth.
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of
godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified
in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the
Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into
glory.
PREACHING IT
TO SAY THIS
Today, I
begin with you a verse by verse series of messages
preaching through the book of I. Timothy.
The Main
Thrust for the series is discovered in I. Timothy
3:15-16
15
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou

which is the church of the living God, the pillar

You'll
notice the emphasis is on the Church and more
specifically upon the Behavior of the people within
the bounds of the Church.
May God
help us that we would learn how to rightly behave
and conduct buisness within the bounds of the
church.
In order
to do so we must recognize the purpose of the
church. Why does the church exist.
We know that the church is to be built by Jesus
Christ. It consists of those who
have been saved by Jesus Christ.
And it has been commissioned by Christ that the
saved within the church seek those outside the
church in order that they might bring them to
Christ. Also, that those
having been brought into the church would grow and
mature and they would then teach others also in the
pure word of God.
Most
every organization has a manual to issue to it's
members. In this manual a new
comer to the organization can learn about the
organization and various specifics about that
organization. In that manual
one may find
1) The
Mission Statement along with the goals of the
organization 2) The policies and
procedures 3) The Hiearchy
4) Various functions and operations within the
organization 5)
Periodic events of the organization and so forth.
The Bible
is the Believers Manual for the Church.
A Healthy Church is one that is founded and operates
within the dictates of the Bible.
Please understand we live in a day when this manual
has been substituted and scrutinized.
Many churches do not use God's manual for operating
the church. They may
call it a Bible Church but if it "aint run according
to the scriptures it aint Bible.
